The Stanly County School System became a merged school district November 7, 1996, and is under the direction of Superintendent, Mr. William (Bill) Josey. The school system now serves 8,518 students and has 775 teachers.

Gray Stone Day School
Gray Stone Day School offers students in grades 9-12 a rigorous college preparatory curriculum in an environment that fosters the development of strong character. Graduates of Gray Stone will be prepared to excel in higher education and to provide leadership in their communities. Little One’s Child Development Center
Little One’s Child Development Center offers high quality childcare and educational services from 6:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. Little One’s uses a combination of the “HighReach Learning” curriculum and the “Kids To Learn” curriculum. Park Ridge Christian School
Park Ridge Christian School was founded in September, 1993. It began with kindergarten and to date has classes from kindergarten through the eighth grade. Class size averages 12 students per class with a total school enrollment for 2006-07 of 172 students. The school uses the Christian curriculum, A-Beka. Each class is instructed in Bible each day as well as core subjects that are infiltrated with the Word of God. Our mission is to offer Biblical instruction so students will learn of God’s love and His saving grace through Jesus Christ, and to offer academic instruction that challenges the students with high expectations for learning, studying, and a sound work ethic.

Christ the King Christian Academy
Christ the King Christian Academy, located in New London, opened in August 1999. It presently serves grades kindergarten through ninth, and will continue to add one grade each year through 12th grade. Christ the King is located in Highland Baptist Church. The curriculum is a combination of the A Becka Books and Bob Jones. Future plans are to build a facility on a 62-acre tract nearby. Carolina Christian School
Carolina Christian School is located in Locust in the education building of Carolina Presbyterian Church. They began in September of 1999 and currently serve grades K-4, with plans to add a grade a year to serve K-6 by 2002. Carolina Christian School uses the A Beka curriculum published by Pensacola Christian Academy and follow the Stanly County Schools calendar. Stanly Montgomery Home School Association
Stanly Montgomery Home School Association (SMHSA) is a group of families that cares about the quality of education our children receive. Each family chooses the materials used to educate their child(ren), giving each child the individualized education they need. Our Back to School Meeting is packed with information to help each family get off to a great start! This is a very important meeting for all SMHSA families to attend.
Our first and foremost goal, is to give each family the support they need to educate their children with the highest quality education possible. Home Schooling Support Group Meetings are scheduled throughout the year. We are here to answer your questions and help you through your home schooling every step of the way. Many SMHSA families have been home schooling for over 10 years, and are willing to let you glean off of their experience.
